WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Joe Biden had a rocky 2021. And for much of the country, Biden acted squirrelly and certainly not presidential. Biden was even compared to Rocky the squirrel, an animated cartoon character popular in the animated comedy cartoon television series The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle. The original was produced from 1959 – 1964. DreamWorks Animation Television rebooted the series a few years ago, debuting on May 11, 2018 on Amazon Prime Video.
Rocky is a flying squirrel and Bullwinkle is a Canadian Moose. The duo’s antics get them into all kinds of humorous and “dangerous” situations. In every episode, Rocky and Bullwinkle run afoul of Boris and Natasha, a pair of spies from Pottsylvania who have been sent by their boss Fearless Leader to steal something vital in order to take over the world.
For Biden in 2021, Rocky is a perfect example. He’s a naive squirrel with high hopes and relies on his best friend to help him get out of trouble. Biden had high hopes in 21, but ultimately failed in fulfilling his promises to the country. Plus, his policies have increased inflation, facilitated an influx of illegal immigration and has his party on the brink of losing both he House and the Senate in the 2022 midterm election.
Presidents have enormous power to unilaterally make policy changes in the United States. Democrats, progressives, left-leaning corporatists, members of the media and academics want Biden to use this power. These groups wanted him to use executive orders in 2021 to cancel student debt, legalize marijuana and force drug companies to lower prices. He did no such thing in 2021.
Biden also failed to get the Build Back Better and Voting Rights legislation passed because two Democratic Senators refused to nuke the filibuster.
A few other items Biden failed to accomplish in 2021 were take action on climate change, raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour, expand the Supreme Court, protect abortion rights, Pass the “Protect the Right to Organize Act”, make Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico states, honor his promise to give voters a $2,000 check promised during the Georgia Senate elections, and make the Child Tax Credit Expansion Permanent.
Biden’s cohorts will do their best to help him accomplish some of the goals listed above. But Biden’s 2022 may be more Bullwinkle than successful.
In the cartoon series, Bullwinkle was a foolish but well-intentioned character. But he couldn’t quite save the world without some unexpected help from Rocky and others. Thus, Biden will probably be the Bullwinkle character of 2022. The country will laugh. The country will see exactly what’s happening in Frostbite Falls (Washington, D.C.) as Boris and Natasha (Chuck Shumer and Nancy Pelosi), the scheming villains who will continue their attempts to take over the world one lie, one policy, and one piece of legislation at a time.
And the country will likely vote out many of the House and Senate Democrats in hopes of restoring some sort of balance in the government that will preclude Biden from accomplishing most of his socialist schemes.
